    60 years ago

    On 13 April 1960 Motherwell beat Altletico Bilbao 3-2 in the rain. It was one of the series of floodlit friendlies that took place at Fir Park in the late 50s and early 60s.

    It shakes me somewhat to admit that I remember getting soaked that night!

    I can just remember being taken by my late dad to see us beat Flamengo of Brazil 9-2. They had the likes of that wonderful player, Tostao, lining up for them.

    One of the friendlies was against Leeds. They had some guy called Jackie Charlton at centre half. 7 - 0 to the 'Well. I've still got the programme.
