Barnsley FC Furlough Non-Playing Staff

In a very short statement (always suspicious with BFC) on the Official Website our club has decided to furlough non-playing staff ie use the Government Scheme whereby 80% of wages are paid for by the taxpayer.
There is no detail about whether the other 20% will be paid by the club or whether the playing staff will continue to be paid full salary.

This is an interesting one SB, I put a tweet out yesterday revealing that the club had told zero hours contract employees including part time academy staff at the club that they would not now be getting furloughed after the club originally telling them they would, meaning they’d receive no pay at all. This was a decision which had been made at the top of the club.

The tweet got several thousand views and went on to Facebook and other forums and I know for a fact that certain people in the club were rattled by this. Some backtracking went on and the statement you mention was quickly released (which is still quite vague and isn’t clear if zero hour employees will be included in whatever way)

Will we get a refund on season ticket ? / would you want one ? I'm not particularly bothered , some interest in this furlough thing though , will these billionaire owners of ours be shamed again , taking tax payers money ?

If tha adds up fooak like Turnstile Operators, Car Park Attendants, 50/50 Lasses etc on zero hours it comes to a fair bit.
