Transfer rumour thread 20/21

As we limped to the title last season there was a lot of debate about how the squad would perform in the Premiership. Some said we were as good as the bottom 6, I disagreed and said we needed 4/5 players and I stand by that.

We've added a CB and a wing back, so that's 2 of my 4/5, and I'm happy with that, but we need at least one creative mid and another striker, and if the budget will stretch to it a pacy left winger. We were set back months by the Hearts shenanigans and we need to be very patient with results until Micky finds the players he needs to complete the squad. Think we might see a couple leaving too.

Only thing I'd add to that Stoke, is that Micky looks to be a much better coach than the previous incumbent and may over the piece get much more from the squad we already have. Early signs are positive on that score. Of course we do definitely need additions in the areas you mention but I also definitely think a lot of players were underperforming last season and may surprise us yet.

Watson ended up at Dunfermline. Its not like any of the Premiership teams were falling over themselves to sign him

Also agree. He's a proper coach and you can see already that he's improving players. In terms of results he's been hampered with just having the players for a short time since he arrived, injuries, and frankly also the limitations of the players currently at his disposal. We'll improve the longer the season goes on but in the short term I'm expecting some disappointments. Hopefully not today though!

It's hard not to be impressed with MM. The injury situation has definitely hampered him. We still need another 2 or 3 new faces in though imo.
