Act in what manner? If the two students interviewed were from the same flat then they constitute a household! Therefore no masks or social distancing required, or does your household keep 2 meters apart and where masks at all time!
hence the criticism was unfounded and spurious at worst or uninformed at best!
Andy...students living together form a new ‘bubble’. At Leicester University for example these are called ‘Live and Learn bubbles’. Once these new bubbles have been formed they are the equivalent of a ‘household’ and how adjacent they are to each other within that bubble/household is no longer a factor as I understand it.
Trust you to go and ruin an amusing exchange Andy. To what did you turn for your deed. FACTS. As if they matter in this brave new BoriDon world.
Even worse, I am going to back you up with that old chestnut, common sense. I know many on here don't always show it but most have it. Now, using CS, let's look at the scenario and come to a conclusion as to what we, as individuals, would do in the self same circumstances.
As much as I love my dear lady wife, if she tested positive I wouldn't break any of the CV-19 laws, rules, regulations or advice until such point as she was no longer infectious. Turn the tables and she would do the same.
IMO, from what little I know of my fellow posters on here, I am of the opinion you would all do the same.
Back to the 2 students, they showed absolutely no common sense and they also ignored the rules. 2 mistakes, not just one.
Ram I understand you have to pay to watch the other programmes .We all have to ,but it's not compulsory to watch BBC news programmes .If you have a problem with them don't watch their news . Plenty of other news channels . I don't like ITV or Fox news so I don't watch them I certainly wouldn't complain if I saw something on those channels I didn't like . I would just be questioning myself why I watched something I know I didn't like . You have a good point about having to pay , I subscribe to Sky Sport but I don't like F1, cricket, rugby ,horse racing so I don't watch those programmes
My point is that you, like many of us, have plenty of critical comments to make on Derby County, nobody is forcing us to watch them.
No, we make these comments, partly in the hope that public opinion will be listened to and changes made. If enough people discuss issues with how our national 'independen' news corporation is run, then maybe changes will be made.
Personally, I watch BBC news for a few minutes when I wake up each morning, mainly to check on the weather. I don't watch any of the other BBC news broadcasts throughout the day.
Going back to the students living in the same flat with a covid carrier, I would not want to be in the same room when possible and when In the same room I would maintain as big as possible air gap between us.
Even if my wife contracted it and I was caring for her, I would try and maintain a distance between us and when this wasn't possible, we would wear a mask.
I can't stand horse racing either, but I dont remember ever seeing it on Sky. I have sky sports for cricket and nfl primarily and am probably unique in that I don't watch Premier league football. But if it wasn't for those countless millions that do subscribe to watch the greed league, my package would probably be more expensive because of the way its bundled.
Same with BBC - I don't watch it much but it doesn't cost much, and if it became pay per view the cost to those many people who are more dependent on it would rise. So I'm happy to cough up. Hey, have I just become a socialist? I feel dirty 😉
