    Dominic Matteo

Great to hear that Dumfries born Dom has had the all clear after his battle with a brain tumour. Older readers on this thread might remember his family chip shop in the Vennel - Matthews - (they reverted to their original Italian name after moving to north - west England) years ago. His dad Albert played for the Dunfries Italian team the Red Romans and I actually met him at Palmy a long time ago when at that time he was driving buses in Southport.

Good to hear he’s making a full recovery. Did he played for England as a youngster before being capped for Scotland ?

I remember going into Matthews chip shop on the Vennel and being served by his dad Albert, nice fella.
