The Great Escape (not the film)

Albion are running a close second to Leicester about which side produced the greatest relegation escape from the Premier. It had to be us surely? Click link to vote

A decent gap between us now, Leicester of 34% of the vote and us on 25%.

Can’t see if myself, surely ours not only was the first after being last at Xmas but also the most exciting last day of the season ever.

Obviously the Leicester fans voted in droves to give them the title of the great escape. They just went on a good run to escape the drop whereas we did it the hard way by ensuring it went to the last game of the season. We didnt escape the drop next season though

Although it was an exciting end to the season it was rather like our Dunkirk, you don't win anything by avoiding going down.
Leicester improved we didn't. Peace even sold Horsefield and Earnshaw the following January ensuring we wouldn't escape again.
Peaces plan was to keep us yo yoing, thus creating excitement and costing him minimum outlay, though to be fair to him he did take quite a few seats out of the ground and gave it a lick or paint.

It wouldn't have been the raving lunatic by any chance?
