    Tommy Wright leaves St Johnstone

After 7 years at McDiarmid Wright is offski. Naturally speculation is that the NI job calls. Intersting.

His availability without having to pay compensation, his track record and the fact he has his family home in Belfast must be pluses for the NI Football Association. In recent times I think he was unhappy at St Johnstone as control over player sales etc had been put in the hands of a fairly recently appointed lady director, reducing Tommy’s say over team affairs. So, a good time for him to go, recharge his batteries and then take over as Northern Ireland manager (instead of our man, I hope!).

He's done an amazing job there - you wonder just why he stayed so long.

He did indeed do a great job for The Saints. Good guy gets just reward perhaps? Hopefully, he is getting the job, and not actually taking a sabbatical!
So, if that secures Robbo at our place seems a win-win ... for us fans anyway.
