Would be our first League title yes, though not looking likely now unless they decide the season on a different basis than we're expecting, sadly.

We'll just have to win Div. 1 next season

Yep, and we’re up, subject to FA approval.

Well, we're up (pending ratification). Shame I'm not jumping for joy. Still, something to look forward to next season/year.

Nothing is sorted yet, it is only what the League 2 clubs want to happen. All the leagues above have to agree to have relegation for this to go through. I believe that Stevenage will not be relegated based on the reports, so why should other teams be relegated. The Premier League (surprise, surprise) especially seem to be going down the road of "no relegation"

It’s looking increasingly as though the PL will be played to conclusion, which will surely mean that relegation happen for 3 clubs. Even if, for some reason, this doesn’t happen the legal ramifications of not promoting at least 2 clubs from the Championship will force the PL to take at least Leeds and WBA. Relegation and promotion is likely to then filter down the league so we should be OK. This might mean L2 having only 22 teams and a right old mess for a year or two to come!

I also suspect a few clubs may go bust, more non-League clubs will revert to part time and we will end up with regionalised divisions from either L1 or L2 and below to both save money with decreased away match expenses and, in the long run, boost crowds with more local matches. Everything is up for negotiation, especially for bad losers like MacAnthony from Peterborough.

On this topic, excellent interview with the Vale Chairwoman on the BBC website about why, despite the a Vale having a decent chance of getting to the play offs, she voted in favour of ending the season. Clearly they now have an owner with the good of football at the heart of her decisions, not self interest - well done Mrs Shanahan.
