For the record I'm a Tory.
    Probably always will be.
However, Cummings should f*** off now.
Anybody, in the public eye in these times blatantly disregarding the guidelines should be ashamed.
But will he be? No. Because he is a hypocritical piece of s***!
Sack the sanctamonious turd. I refrained from using a different 4 letter word there!

He will keep his job its a do as I say not as I do attitude.

Same with Ferguson another one telling us all what WE should be doing whilst he runs to his knock off.

Then you wonder why a few of the public are doing as they like.

Personally both of them should be fired they are a risking putting peoples lives in danger and getting the "R" rate up.

Ferguson did resign and it was his ‘knock off’ who came to him.

    The rest is spot on.

Even the Attorney General is now saying it's ok to break the law if you're 'protecting your family'. God knows what Cummings has on them all.

The socialists would sack every tory if they could, for the flimsiest of reasons.

If we were to sack politicians for doing wrong, the houses of parliament would be empty.

I go out in my car daily, and walk the dog. I domt always keep 2 metres away. Nobody is wanting me sacked. Or punished.

    The left are gangsters .
Sacked from what, walking the dog?

And then it would go away? It won't, I think it has a way to run yet.

For me, the problem is that I heard time after time 'You must stay at home' and 'Stay at home. Protect the NHS. Save lives.' Not once did I hear anything about flexibility or using common sense.

It has also been said today that it is guidance. Surely they are regulations and you can be fined for breaking them. Can you be fined for not following guidance?

There are many questions to be answered. One is as to whether there was anyone nearer who could have helped with caring for his child.

I really couldn't give a toss to be honest. If he'd farted in public the press would be hounding him and probably couldn't believe their luck when this came up. There are far more important things happening in the world!!!

It seems there is a big difference between *the law* and *guidelines* and this seems to be why Cummings is emphasising that what he did was 'reasonable' and 'lawful'

the quote below is from this link -
    https://www.instituteforgovernment.o...navirus-crisis

The prime minister began the ‘lockdown’ with a televised statement to tell the nation: “you must stay at home.” Yet parts of his statement were couched, carefully, in the future tense. People “will” only be allowed to leave their home for certain purposes, he said: to shop for basic necessities, do one form of exercise a day, to satisfy a medical need, care for someone vulnerable, or travel to and from work where absolutely necessary. He added that the police “will” have the powers to enforce the rules.

Initially, the guidelines for individuals were not backed by legislation – and some people ignored government advice. When legislation did arrive, three days after the PM’s address, it said something slightly different. The regulations provided that “no person may leave the place where they are living without reasonable excuse.”

The legislation set out a non-exhaustive list, adding further “reasonable excuses” to those previously set out by the prime minister. The law also permits people to leave home with any reasonable excuse which is not explicitly mentioned. Keeping some flexibility in the scheme makes sense, as it would have been difficult for those who drafted the legislation to think of every real-world situation in which it might be necessary to go out.

Published government guidance remains more restrictive than the regulations. For example, it says that people should only leave home for specified “very limited purposes”. It also suggests that people can exercise only once a day, although in England the law does not say this. The government advises people, further, to “stay local and use open spaces near home where possible”, rather than drive, but the legislation does not say this either.

I guess compared to wars, people losing their jobs and people dying it is nothing.

My problem is at no point was anyone ever told “It was ok to drive 200 miles for someone to look after their kids” what I remember being told was “Stay at home save lives protect the NHS”. If Joe Bloggs did it then we were told you would be fined and what is worse this is coming from a man in a privileged position.

Now he wasn’t protecting lives he drove over 200 miles and more than likely had to go for a toilet break meaning touching surfaces which could have spread the virus as he thought at the time he had it.

Basically the govt are now back tracking and making up new rules to defend him so expect the public and media to carry on attacking him.
