The socialists would sack every tory if they could, for the flimsiest of reasons.

If we were to sack politicians for doing wrong, the houses of parliament would be empty.

I go out in my car daily, and walk the dog. I domt always keep 2 metres away. Nobody is wanting me sacked. Or punished.

I think Cummings and the Government have made a mistake here, but it's not the trip to Durham that bothers me. The mistake is to issue quite a detailed response to the 'story' instead of ignoring or dismissing it in the briefest of terms.

It has also been said today that it is guidance. Surely they are regulations and you can be fined for breaking them. Can you be fined for not following guidance?

There are many questions to be answered. One is as to whether there was anyone nearer who could have helped with caring for his child.

I really couldn't give a toss to be honest. If he'd farted in public the press would be hounding him and probably couldn't believe their luck when this came up. There are far more important things happening in the world!!!

It seems there is a big difference between *the law* and *guidelines* and this seems to be why Cummings is emphasising that what he did was 'reasonable' and 'lawful'

I guess compared to wars, people losing their jobs and people dying it is nothing.

My problem is at no point was anyone ever told “It was ok to drive 200 miles for someone to look after their kids” what I remember being told was “Stay at home save lives protect the NHS”. If Joe Bloggs did it then we were told you would be fined and what is worse this is coming from a man in a privileged position.

Now he wasn’t protecting lives he drove over 200 miles and more than likely had to go for a toilet break meaning touching surfaces which could have spread the virus as he thought at the time he had it.

Basically the govt are now back tracking and making up new rules to defend him so expect the public and media to carry on attacking him.
