    M.o.T test extension

our MoT's have been extended 6 months into November. Will the new M.o.t when issued now run till next November ?

I would think so because the M.O.T.test certificate lasts for 12 months.

I’ve had both mine and wife’s car done during lockdown. I read an article, I think by Martin Lewis, which said that if you DID extend it, you MUST tell your insurer. Don’t know if this is Law, or just good practice....,and I can’t remember where I read it..... but I’d recommend doing it.

The exemption will work on a monthly rolling basis, so if your car's MOT expired on 1 April 2020 it's now due to be renewed by 1 October 2020, and if it runs out in May it's due for renewal by November. It will remain in place for a year, so anyone who's car MOT runs out between 30 March 2020 and 29 March 2021 has an extra six months to get it renewed.
