If he only has 12 months to go, Killie won’t want to lose him for nothing.
How much would Killie hold out for?
I’d be surprised if we spent a chunky fee at the moment though.

    Are we talking full international?
As Chris long at Motherwell is capped at U21 level

Nick blackman is another name, out of contract next year capped for Barbados although more a winger than CF

No chance that clown would come to Aberdeen.
He’ll end up a fat mess at Easter Road in 12 months time.

Of the names touted, the most realistic would be Eamonn Brophy in my opinion.
I wouldn’t have thought Kilmarnock would want to let him run his contract down, especially in the current circumstances.
His record suggests he’d not be prolific.
The most league goals he’s ever scored in a season (including penalties) is 11.

Capped for Barbados surely doesn't count! haha

I think Brophy might actually be the one, unless he has some desire to go down south and try his luck there. He would be the most obvious fit for us in terms of the type of striker he is. I'm not a massive fan, but I would venture to say he's a better all round player than Cosgrove. If we get cash for Cosgrove we might splash out a wee bit for a replacement i guess. If he's only got a year left maybe £250K would get him?

Thumbheid was tongue in cheek,i agree he'll end up at HIV's.
Re Brophy i hope it isn't him we're after,he's a bit meh but with better players around him (no laughing at the back) he might score more goals than he has previously

31 goals in 99 games for Killie is probably not a bad ratio considering they aren't exactly the greatest side. Still just 24 so best years ahead of him and potential resale value if he does well. Seems a more natural striker than Cosgrove, and without the height, so it would remove the temptation to play long ball that we often seem to slip into when the big man is playing. It's the type of signing we should be making, picking the best players from other teams in Scotland, like we did with Shinnie, Hayes (first time), Rooney, McLean etc.

I wouldn't be doing cartwheels down the street, but I'd be happy enough with Brophy - tried and tested at this level, and as has been said, with better players around him and more chances coming his way, he "would do a job for us".

Wins an awful lot of penalties & free kicks in dangerous positions which wouldn't be a bad thing

I think Brophy would be a decent signing. Always seems to play decent against us.
