O/T Two magpies and a black cat

I witnessed an unusual remarkable sight today while walking the dogs.

Aross the road on an open unfenced garden there were two magpies seeing off a fully grown black cat.

The magpies cleverly placed themselves strategically about three feet apart forming a triangle with the cat and they were craning their necks forward towards the enemy and slowly hopping towards it making the most fearsome squarking noises.

The old dear who owned the cat had to open the ground floor window to allow it to escape inside.

I thought this was going to be a joke.

Hopefully it's a prescient metaphor with the cat representing the pussies at the PL running scared of the soon to be soaring Magpies.

    Or something like that.

Very aggressive and territorial are Magpies, killed a couple of my carp 2 yrs ago, prob because they were within a quarter mile of the nest and so represented a threat to food resources. In the carp`s defence, I never once saw a fish stalking the birds nest. Magpies....hard as ****
