Another bid put in. . .

Newcastle United have received a new £350m takeover bid from the CEO of US TV company Clear TV, Henry Mauriss.

Not sure what to make of this really.

Problem is if this offer is on the table the PL could easily now block the Saudi bid and say its ok Newcastle Fans you can have this new owner instead when we know very little of any financial clout on offer from him, is he a multi billionaire ? nobody knows

I think regardless of what they do, I think if they block the bid then it'll be a legal battle they won't want.

I don't know, I just find timing quite suspicious. I cannot put finger on why and I can't say there is a reason, just gut instinct.

Could this possible a PR stunt from Ashley and one of his rich mates to hopefully speed the Saudi takeover up? I hope so because if not I think the Saudis will get rejected and this Yank accepted although he's under investigation from the FBI for fraud. Sound about right for this takeover.

This stinks of Qatar going through our Corrupt press, trying to get fake stories released to try and influence the premier league to turn the Saudi deal down.

They wouldn't have a leg to stand on if they did that.

The bid will be accepted or rejected on the basis of the Owners and Directors test and if they did reject the Saudis on shaky grounds just to allow this other bloke in then they'd be taken to the cleaners by Staveley/The Reubens/the Saudis lawyers.
