Motherwell are scheduled to play in the Europa League on 27 August in a one-legged qualifying round tie. The luck of the draw will determine the home team. - External Link

Think we start in the first round, as seeds, on August 27, and potentially there's then Q2, Q3 and play-off.

Obviously the luck of the draw plays a huge part but an intriguing run could be possible. Depending on who we get and where - especially if we progress beyond our first game - we might even get to see it!

Surely there has to be something in place, where if you are drawn away from home your travelling costs are halved with the home team. Otherwise a team could qualify through to playoffs and be drawn away in each round resulting in a huge financial outlay in these difficult times . No doubt football common sense will once again not prevail.

Yes, that would seem only fair.

You would certainly like to think that travelling costs for the away team will be covered in some way but who knows?

Don't you just love European football?

Give me the League Cup group stages any day of the week.

Not overly fussed by that...the chance of us making a loss from the Europa League is small unless we get an absolutely brutal away trip.
