Lodge appeals at the Court of Session due to their relegation.
How absolutely absurd.
Lodge appeals at the Court of Session due to their relegation.
How absolutely absurd.
It would be even more absurd not to have lodged an appeal given that they have been relegated as the result of a pandemic, and effectively through no fault of their own, despite having many games still to play, and any number of permutations to reorganise Scottish football which would have saved Hearts, Partick and Stranraer and promoted Brora and Kelty.
So technically you are quite correct Albertz, "how absolutely absurd" that Scottish football would have allowed such an appalling thing to happen. In years to come, - people will be demonstrating in the streets (about Scottish football) because it is as appalling and absurd as human slavery.
Come to think of it, why aren't more people calling out the SFL? This is the 21st century, 42 clubs have had 3 months to decide upon a new structure, - it's not as if the present system is so brilliant!
The whole system absolutely stinks, and if Queen of the South had been illegally relegated on a whim, I for one would have been campaigning to every court in the land and further afield until something was done about it.
jardi do you know that hearts and partick are legally binded as members of the sfa to use the swiss court of arbitration ,thats the only court on the planet that fifa recognise and all clubs of a fifa members organisation (sfa) have to discipline clubs that use independent courts whether thay win or lose the case ,so sfa will be required to step in and take 1 or 2 actions to keep fifa happy after this 1 being expulsion of sfa membership or 2 relegation to the lowest league .
Where are Partick getting the 2 million pounds compensation figure from!! Surely relegation to the 1st Div hasn't cost them that...
I honestly thought, and posted elsewhere on this forum, that spfl clubs would do the right thing by firstly ending the season prematurely and secondly restructuring the leagues to protect the affected clubs like Hearts and Partick. Naive maybe. They’ve fallen at the second hurdle, allowing self interest to stand in the way of fairness once again. Can’t say I blame Hearts and Thistle for being angry.
Absolutely spot on post
Mark and Louis, - it's nothing but a disgrace and we need many more people to lodge their disgust.
Scottish football was literally dying on its feet before the Covid-19 pandemic, can the powers that be not see that this will further damage the game?
Hearts and Partick 'angry' - if it had been either of the Old Firm the matter would have been resolved on day one, - never mind after 3 damned months.
Scottish football needs to put its hand up and say it got it wrong and start all over again.
jardi theres only one way to correct scottish football and its to take away the voting privileges of the clubs ,disband the spfl and the sfa to step up and take control of the leagues ,as every club votes on self interest which very rarely sees votes progress ,then there is the tv companies which demand 4 old firm league games per season ,the clubs dont have the balls to say no to sky sports and co's cash offers and play hardball with them ,scottish football needs the sfa to step in and order league reconstruction ,two leagues of 18 with a second devision north and second devision south with 18 teams in each ,this way promoting all the lowland and highland teams plus enough space to add a few more possibly top junior teams to the mix ,thats whats needing to happen .
Francis, - you and I don't always see eye to eye, - but I like your style which is refreshing, and in many respects you have hit the nail squarely on the head - talking of which, all the clubs need to bang their heads together and get this nonsense sorted out, - because if they don't there will be no fans left to pay to watch them!
Too much in the way of common sense for this to get off the ground Francis. It's all about money and the more home games teams play against the Old Firm the more seasonal cash income they take in therefore the drive is to keep the SPL at 10 ensuring at least two games a season against them and anything else is a non starter as it cost them money in the long term. Same applies to any TV deal which is essential for the big boys if they want to attract a decent level of player to Scottish football. This obviously doesn't apply to the lower leagues such as the championship and restructuring is desperately needed to freshen the game in general to excite the supporters but as to what permutation that would take is still a matter of debate but the more the merrier as far as I am concerned.
