O/T ID cards must be brought in.

After yet another atrocious killing of innocent people in Reading,it is time we followed other European countries and introduced a security system that can only help eliminate suspected terrorists and illegal migrants who should not be allowed into this country.I ,like the vast majority of the population have nothing to hide so let's all have identification.

He was known to the security forces already and by all accounts he's been in prison while in this country. He'd forfeit any rights to stay in this country before this happened on sat. If people want to come to this country to live then they should live by our laws. If the carnt then they should be sent home.

Awful event and perhaps an understandable reaction. An equally awful event not quite garnering the same attention, the death of a father, son and daughter (and dog) out for a walk on Father's Day in Cumbria at the hands of an (alleged) drunken driver. Drink driving kills multitudes more than random terror attacks so should more be done to prevent those. A ban on alcohol maybe?

How would a requirement that we carry ID cards have stopped the Reading attack?

    It wouldn’t

The attacker wasn’t some guy who popped over on a dingy or on back of a lorry he was an asylum seeker who came through legal channels. He probably had an ID since he was claiming benefits anyway.

IDs would do f all, all they would do is check “have you got ID sir”
    “Why yes I have”
“Enjoy your day in the park sir”
    Followed by him killing people

I thought the same. Unless the ID cards are made out of Kevlar and kept in your breast pocket.
