'Answer ..... because none of em are left wingers , sell out merchants or don't even know what left wing means'
Isn't this the case with most people when they get into any position of power? Politicians, Trade Unionists, Councillors??
They all seem to sell out. It's the main reason the working classes have turned their backs on Labour. These people can't all set out intending to sell out but it seems, they invariably do.
Well there's finding compromise which is something you have to do .
However on a issue such as Brexit there wasn't , you were either in or out .
Take the actual wording on the ballot paper for instance .
Do you want to remain in the EU
Do you want to leave the EU
How simple is that ?
Well apparently it wasn't so simple .
So if remain meant we had to stay in the EU you accept that as we carry on as we are and that's that in its entirety , fairly reasonable assumption to make .
So what is the opposite of remaining in the EU ?
Hmmm ...... leaving the EU in its entirety you'd have thought , fairly reasonable assumption to make .
Apparently not it seems .
Apparently RLB couldn't work it out either .
Yes they sell out, but the main reason folks turned their backs on Labour was their stance ( or lack of it) on brexit.
Brexit had a thick layer of anti-immigration running through it. Cameron misjudged the mood of the north regarding immigration and its problems and called for the referendum. He mistook quiet people for those that he thought were ok with immigration. They were quiet because of the bile you get if you open your mouth on anti immigration issues. Given a free, anonymous vote though showed that those remaining silent were actually very much against immigration and the free border rules of the EU
Similarly, Labour didn’t learn either. Being very London centric they also thought that immigration was a side issue and the refusal to be pro brexit lost them thousands of votes.
Ignore the north at your peril
Not sure if this has been shown.

Of course immigration is central. My old university colleagues who work in London are just so immersed in "diversity" it's pathetic. Up here we won't have it. We don't like blacks especially. We don't like Muslims. We don't want more immigration. We know the reality. You can't sell this lie to us any more. What we need is a solution.
Meanwhile on sunday:-
Four police officers were hurt when a gathering on a beach ended in violence, the Kent force has said
The party for underprivileged London youth was held at Greatstone beach near New Romney but more people than expected turned up, organisers said.
The main organiser said he believed the event had been unfairly criticised, adding: "When Camber Sands has 30,000 people, nobody talks about Camber, but they talk about black people on the beach. We feel this is racist.
So then we can assume that the underprivileged kids of London are black or it just worked out that way because they didn't take any white ones.
