What have we got here then? Your anti BBC thread now introduces the BLM movement, attacks on free speech, those hard done to loveable rogues...Farage and Hopkins, the police - who you targeted yourself in the early days of lockdown - and now ‘grooming gangs’.

That must be close to a Tricky ‘full house’...and apparently it’s all ‘media driven’ and the fault of the ‘press pushing an agenda’.

So, I ask again...which bit of the press is driving this attack on free speech and creating this ‘unequal footing’ and ‘atmosphere of mistrust’ you speak of...because it sure isn’t the Sun, Star, Mail, Express, Times, Telegraph, ITV, Sky or LBC is it?

I’m not much of a fan of the press either, but might it not be the case that crooked rule breaking politicians have rather more to answer for when creating an ‘atmosphere of mistrust’?
Ta, As we appeared to have stumbled into ‘considered Response’ mode recently can you give a response to my observation re Woman’s hour a few pages ago. Your original response was politician speak ie you annswered a different question. My observation is back to the op in my view, yes we do appear to have gone off topic

Its time to send the thread off topic in the opposite to the time honoured way. Ordinarily football topics get turned into political ones, so this time I ask:

What does anyone think about the suggestions in the Birmingham press that the Blues should seek to recruit Wayne Rooney as their manager cum player (that way round). Has he even completed his badges?

And now, back on topic, I believe the original BBC belongs to a gentleman by the name of Julio Lopez

Which one Andy? I looked and couldn't find this - though they do have a few different pages. Their website doesn't seem to have it either?

Though, they do have legal advice telling people not to answer police questions (including saying their name) when involved in protests and are clearly backed by lawyers, so they may have since removed their alleged aims.

Unfair, Mr. F. I responded to your words, ‘BLM riots’, and to a point you’d raised previously I think.

    I don’t/didn’t listen to ‘Women’s Hour’, so couldn’t comment.

All I will say is that back in the seventies I attended a number of large demonstrations...largely to do with student matters along with Anti-Apartheid and opposing the National Front, including the notorious Red Lion Square event which resulted in one death and me having to give evidence at Bow Street some months later.

I was much more of an idealist than a ‘trouble maker’ and had no interest at all in attacking the police however I rapidly discovered that while there were some decent coppers around there were also some absolute b******s.
Older heads than mine would give advice on how to avoid being picked off and arrested and how to avoid a good going over. That was over forty years ago and I’ve no idea how much things have changed since, but, with no awareness of what was said at all on WH, is the provision of similar advice such a bad thing?
