Cowardly scum...mind you, Toxteth in the early hours is not high up on the list of places to be, even if you are as hard as Wisdom.

P.S. Believe he’s actually a ’Yarksheer’ lad, MA. Given his L.F.C. connections I’d imagine the culprits might be given a hard time before too long...such a pity!
That's terrible, I'm glad he's going to recover, physically at least.

He might well be Yarksheer but he was visiting a relative in Toxteth.

According to Stephen Pearce on Talksport he's had surgery, now moved from Intensive Care to a General Ward.
Will need time to get over this, footie comes a distant second!

Also don’t underestimate the seriousness of a stabbed buttock, it sounds a bit inconsequential but it can have long term impact

Already left hospital tonight apparently, according to his brother anyway, which is good news.

If the wounds were serious enough to warrant an overnight hospital stay they will a) not be superficial b) almost certainly be stitched c) will remain open (not fully healed) for..... how long? A week? Two weeks? All dependent on how deep they are.

I'd guess that, as well as the next 2 games which the club has said he'll miss, he's likely to miss at least the 2 after that too.

He's a tough lad but the key could be his mental recovery. I fancy he will take the approach 'duck you, scum won't stop me!'
I am sure the club and players will rally around him as well as his family and friends. That support is crucial but he must be given time and space with no pressure to return.
To steal from Arnie, I am sure his viewpoint is 'I will be back'!

If the lads who did him ever get found they might suddenly have huge regrets..........

He grew up in Chapeltown, Leeds which is the Leeds equivalent of Liverpool’s Toxteth. I’d have thought there’d be more psychology involved in parking in those two area in the future than playing football.
Sometimes wonder how players ever recover (psychologically) from really bad breaks/injuries...I doubt I’d have been able to face a fast bowler ever again after a Mike Gatting/Stuart Broad moment...but I reckon Wisdom will be back...just more cautious about where he parks.
