    Seemingly of interest to the rugby league team. Also rather bizarrely they appear to be appealing against the automatic 12 point penalty for going into admin. I wonder on what basis? New owners didn't give us the money, maybe, but whose fault is that?

    That said Wigan is near Liverpool and its never Liverpool's fault either. Must be a regional thing

    Wigan is actually in Greater Manchester, GP.
    Reigning RL Champions, and local rivals, St. Helens are the ones in Merseyside.
    Wigan Athletic and the Warriors have ground shared since Central Park was demolished so the Wigan Warriors/local council interest was always to be expected.

    Maybe they're appealing on the grounds that the EFL sanctioned the takeover deal, immediately before it went toys up. But then shouldn't have their previous owners done that first?

    Or maybe they believe that they've been they target of a criminal stitch up?
