He never got a run in the team playing in a system that suited him, he got a little run when Kieffer Moore left and then it was always as cover for Smith, he isn't a lone target man though so he never looked great. If he'd been played in a front two like he has at Swindon we might have seen a better player, probably best for all concerned if he moves on.

Because 400k now days is equivalent to a bag of balls and first round of pints in the old days 😂

Remember strikers are always twice as much as any other positions if purrington was a striker he would have gone for 700k. It’s just the way the market is

Also the lad don’t want to stay and he’s not better than smith vas or ladapo so keeping him is silly

He's had his chance at Rotherham. Time for him to move on. Best of luck to the lad. Does anyone on this board think he's championship standard. Get what we can and move on.

Maybe in a few years but it won’t happen for us

    Get some better lads in

Some players don't fit at some clubs and some do.
Jerry Yates, Darnell Fisher, Michael Smith are a few examples.
For whatever reason Jerry will have a better career away from the NYS.
As we've signed another attacking player today it's time for us to get as much as we can for him.
He's worth more to Swindon, Blackpool and Sunderland than RUFC and it's a funny old game as Greavsey used to say.

Swindon boss Richie Wellens has tonight told BBCWiltsSport another club has bid for Rotherham striker Jerry Yates.
They will be submitting an offer themselves but Wellens admits it's unlikely to be as much as the other bid.

Boss Paul Warne confirms official bid made but doesn’t say it’s from Swindon.

We need to get this sale over the line at a decent price, rather than hanging on hoping for more

I never heard people booing Yates although it could depend on where you are sat. Watson definitely didn't warrant people booing him as he was one of our best midfielders that I've seen. Neither did Roscoe although I never thought he was great.

The spat with Jon Taylor didn’t help his cause

I suspect the deal can't be concluded until the transfer window opens

It's a bit selfish that it isn't open because some teams are still playing. Surely it would allow teams like us and all the others in div 1 and 2 to set themselves up for next season. It also means that some players are out of contract but can't get fixed up yet

There could be strings attached to make it happen now such as players can't feature for their new clubs this season and also players aren't paid by their new club until say August if that's what the club and player agrees
