    Here we go again

A year ago Celtic and Norwich were chasing Turnbull. Now the Record claims that Stoke and Newcastle are interested with Celtic still in the frame.

For the player's sake it would surely best to get a quick resolution.

We're surely not going to get the same 3 million bid from last summer until he's proved his form and fitness - if we sell it'll surely be late in the window rather than early.

Read the implication that Turnbull is one of the players from Scotland that can now be had for a cut price.
    Hope that’s not true.
Agree he needs to show his form, so why sell now for significantly less after rejecting the originally modified offer and having bringing him through rehab?
Club must have cash in the bank given how they’ve been operating so panic selling would seem a bit drastic a this point.

The worry we have is current uncertainties on finance (even if next season goes full steam ahead). We likely to sell at a price the Board considers 'contingency value'?
Could mean we take a reduced upfront fee with a bigger sell-on. But ... given Kipre's situation at Wigan, what assurance have we that's still a model we work to our benefit?
On the other hand, we've paid out a cuppla transfer fees for new arrivals. So, is that an indicator we don't need to sell a high-end motor for a 2nd hand price?

Do what Seelik and Sevco do put a price tag of £8 million on Turnbull and accept £4 million

Turnbull was worth 3 million (plus whatever) with two years left on his contract when his Celtic move fell through.

We seem to be very confident - at least in public - of his fitness and with the transfer window not closing till October this 'summer', we have absolutely no reason to take a cut price deal. By the closing of the window on October 5, we will have 9 games plus however many in the EL...not only enough to set up our season if we keep our star midfielder but plenty to prove DT can still hack it before being sold with - effectively - two years left on his contract.

So it would seem highly counterintuitive to me that we'd sell for less than we think he's worth right now when there's little to be lost and lots to be gained by waiting just a few months.

Unless, of course, we're bluffing about his fitness...
