    Liam Cooper

Really pleased for the boy today, took his goal really well. We've all had our doubts about him over the last few seasons, myself included, but he has really grown into the captain's role, conducts himself with the upmost decorum and its clear the position means something to him.
This season he has been magnificent, and alongside White, well, shades of Ferdinand/Woodgate! long may it continue!

I've always liked him. You cannot fault his commitment or his behaviour. I was very impressed with the way he interacted with the young boy who suffered from cancer and tragically died. I also think he is a btter footballer than some people give him credit for - his long range distribution from the back and cross field can be very good (sometimes). I just wish he would score more goals with his head from corners.

Has also cut out the lunges and reckless challenges that used to get him sent off - haven't checked the stats but i would think this season is the first he hasn't been sent off for us - usually it's at least twice. Much improved.

Woah that counteracts what I saw. None see him at a corner kick grab the opposition balls and laugh about it? He is a trier, not a world-beater but he is what he is and makes me so nervous in the penalty area as he tends to do things that most refs would give a penalty for.
Now if you were talking about White that kid oozes class.

He is very good pre and post game the way he goes around the players and gees them up and congratulates/consoles them.

Definitely grown in stature by being captain.

Think he has become a better player playing alongside White too.

Cooper is definitely one of those players that continually develops. Yes he has had a few bad experiences but he appears to have learned a lot from them.

I am quite happy that Cooper knows the dark arts of defending because sometimes that is what is needed.

Also agree that he is not necessarily an outstanding CB is his own right, however he does have that ability to enhance a CB partnership.
