    Goalkeeper issue

Message to Paul Warne. Have a word with Pep.

Zach Stefan is back at the Ethiad having returned from a loan spell abroad. He is also the USA’s first choice keeper so good pedigree.

He’s currently 4th choice with City so why not have a cheeky word and offer him Championship football with us. Just a thought.

The problem with that is, will Man City want to loan him out to a team that where there Keepers are asked to kick it long all the time? If they have the intention of him eventually getting in the team at City, I'd imagine they'd want him to go somewhere where he'll be encouraged to play out from the back. They hardly ever send a goal kick over the half way line, it's always played a few yards to one of the back four.

He could soon revert back to playing out from the back on his return (if he was loaned to us) it's not rocket science. Nothing special about rolling/playing it out from the back, unless you count our sorry expense under Stubbs.

The counter argument to that is the fact that every part of his goalkeeping learning curve will be tested as teams will undoubtedly put us under a lot of pressure, and he will have a lot of decisions to make every game we play.
