    Give up all hope.

Luton are coming down from the championship. Pre season they spent 3 million on a keeper from some god forsaken place, and eleven million all in.

Only to get relegated. The financial divide between clubs is growing bigger, never mind between leagues.

You have no chance of getting close to what you were. NONE. Like Cambridge you are beggars, paupers.

There will be no resurgence, no rebirth, no more glory years, indeed, getting out of div 4 will be a miracle. If it ever happens. Like Cambridge relegation is more likely. You will struggle financially for ever more, and so you will struggle on the pitch.

People who can look into the future are seriously disliked, which is ok. You may even get a sugar daddy who knows. Football isnt sport anymore, why bother?. Were you entertained last season?

It opens up another discussion as to why you keep on. Is it identity?. Without football you are less?

Modom is a Villa fan, they will get relegated. Look at the size of that club, and they have no chance.

    What chance have you?????

    Randy of Glisson Road.

It's far cooler to support a lower league club that's not fashionable but is your home town than be a plastic and support a club from a City that you never visited,I rarely converse in conversation with somebody who's wearing a Chelsea/City/Utd shirt

Psaw, we were well entertained last season as always by the wise words of our very own Steven Pattison of the CUFC Holdings board.

Indeed, he is our equivalent of that Star Wars bloke, our very own Obi Wanker Nomark.

Yes, You are more agitated by the politics rather than the football. Football is the last thing on any boards mind. The Cambridge board are into saving society. A couple of years ago a board member bragged that at least more money is going on the playing side.

Where does your money go. ? Hang on, you wont be able to answer that. You are being driven to bankruptcy.

I believe that in 6 months time to maybe 12 months time CUFC 1921, the football club, will be neo-insolvent, which will be the cataclysm. But in that time a consortium of local business people will be financially strong and confident enough to take over CUFC 1921, but only if EWM hand it over debt-free. EWM's headquarters are in Carlisle and they cannot let the club die. The club has no assets that EWM would like to own. As for the CUFC Holdings board, they are totally irrelevant.

It will be hardball all round but will end well. Everything that the likely consortium leader touches turns to gold.

If i was a dent bloke i would agree that everything will end well. But my experience of life is that it wont end well. Not even close. There is a lot more going on than you think, its like a chess game, but you cant watch the moves because your not part of it.

Debt free is a fantasy. The people who want to buy it...are they well heeled? Are they willing to put in millions just to be in div 4?

Your faith and trust is touching, but for someone who has already walked the walk, its very sad in the sense that your hopes will be crushed. If there is a Hollywood ending, like saving private ryan, when the planes appear, it will be mind blowing.

You dont know where you are, do you?

If you're not happy with how the club is being run then maybe try doing something about it? Let's have less of a defeatist "fans are powerless" attitude and think about organizing stuff in the way of protests, boycotts. You could also stand outside EWM handing out leaflets documenting some of their business practices and encouraging people not to buy from them.

Fans have a lot more power than they realize.

There have been protests, which the Holdings directors ignored. The best efforts to organise protests have yielded a derisory response which has not bothered the Holdings directors at all.

As for organising a protest against EWM you have to realise that without that company's financial support since March 2017 the club would not exist. If Jenkins could financially support the club EWM would not now be the real owners by virtue of the debt to them. EWM would not feature at all. Philip Day is an utter ****. If he wakes up one morning having not had a good shag then by the end of the day 1921 could be totally insolvent and cease to exist.

Of course this is a situation in which fans are powerless. It is the simple truth, not a matter of attitude. It is naive to believe that a protest would result in anything positive happening. The Holdings directors are irrelevant and EWM are controlled by an utter **** who spends 51 weeks of each year in Dubai. This **** either does not give a fuck about protests or even the law (i.e. Gelt Woods saga) or would respond by getting EWM to walk away, having prevented the club from dying since March 2017. It will be quite some time before a consortium of local business owners would be in a position to move in and take over. It will take at least a year to build their businesses back up after the end of Covid 19. Without EWM 1921 would not exist by the time that a consortium is ready to make a move.
