    Rams v Bees.

Form suggests a comfortable away win but Thomas Frank has just won the manager of the month award so there is hope.

Assuming Lawrence will return, though probably not Wisdom although, tbf, Evans has proved an adequate replacement.

Think we’ll miss Holmes if he hasn’t recovered...wonder if it might be worthwhile to bring Mr. Dependable (Curtis Davis) back and push Evans into midfield?

Either way I fear a two goal home defeat...0-2 or 1-3...and why are a team that plays in red, white and black called ‘The Bees’ anyway?

I may be wrong here, but could it be the Brentford begins with a B. It's a west London thing, QPR being known as the R's as well....

Seems you’re sort of right, GP. Apparently some students went to watch in the 1890’s and shouted ‘buck up B’s’ which sounds like something the 11k at PP might be allowed to shout...sorry, whisper...next season.

Anyway the name stuck and they became known as ‘The Bees’ not ‘The B’s’...hence the badge.

    Disappointed...all seems a bit contrived...expected something better.

Except they’re not nicknamed ‘The Bees’. Maybe they’re an autumnal forest.

I was thinking more about the likes of Hull being nicknamed the Tigers, Notts County...the Magpies, Watford...Hornets, Castleford Tigers in RL and Wasps in RU...but then I got bored and couldn’t really think of any others so you’re probably right.

Swansea being nicknamed the Swans and sometimes playing in white; Newcastle are Magpies too; Chelsea being nicknamed the Blues and playing in blue? Everton being nicknamed the toffees and always looking like they've been chewed up and spat out

Lol...Norwich would look a bit daft being nicknamed the Canaries and playing in red too...but God knows what colour West Brom should play in to live up to ‘The Throstles’...a sort of speckled brown I suppose.
