    Update on Summer transfer plans

Neal Ardley says he has already cast an eye over potential signings, but says the club has yet to make any decisions over their targets.

The Magpies are expected to strengthen their squad in the summer, but do not know with which division they will be in until the National League play-offs are over.

The club is understood to have a list of targets for if they return to the Football League, but have not ruled out trying to convince them to drop into non-league if they do not win promotion.

Magpies boss Ardley has looked at more than 150 players since the end of March after football was halted due to the coronavirus pandemic.

And it is believed the club has cast its net far and wide in the search for potential talent which has included players who are currently playing in Europe.

But his primary focus is helping Notts try to return to the EFL, just a year after they were relegated.

“We are analysing the current crop of players and they need to do well in the play-offs,” he said.

“We’re looking at who could kick us on if we go up and those who can if we don’t.

“Are there positions that we can bring in something different to what we’ve already got?

“So we are analysing it all, but we’ve not made any decisions.

“We’re in a good place and we are ready to make decisions.”

In the meantime, Notts are busy preparing for their play-off semi-final having played a friendly against Conference South play-off challengers Dorking Wanderers on Saturday.

The Magpies lost the game 3-1, but Ardley gave 45 minutes to all of his players as the build-up to their game at Meadow Lane on July 25.

Nothing new really, same as last transfer update all depends on which league we end up in, then it's all systems go

Football Radar no doubt coming into play again. I've got much more confidence in the quality of our recruitment now than I've had for many years previously. I know that's not much of a comparison when you consider we were relying on the intelligence and perception of one Guy Branston before, but it gives us hope!
