Thread: Today We Were Garbage

  1. #11
Probably a break has come at the wrong time for Brady and Gudmundsson. After 6 weeks are up they will be back to no match fitness and will have to build it up again.

Some players you can drop straight in and they are match fit, Brownhill has generally been on of those. Some players take an age to get up to speed.

Barnes is another who tends to take time to get match fit.

BT: The word you use 'improve',not sure how you mean this exactly? In match fitness like sprinting ,stamina or in his passing of the ball, sense of positional play etc?

If I think say, driving, that I have not driven for 6 months ? How long does it take to be back were I was 'king 'or the road ? 5 mins? 10 mins?

Or take dancing I have not danced for 10 years, but I am sure if I did dance ,give me 3 mins and I am 'John Travolta 'again!

So 6 weeks? A football player has to keep himself fit, (fitness machines etc? ) so why 6 weeks?

I think they are PL quality BT, both of them, when they've got themselves match fit. But it takes the pair of them 4/5/6 games to get up to speed, by which time they're out injured again. They're injury prone, the pair of them, they're never going to be able to contribute much, we should get rid.

Exactly what I was trying to say sinkov. Thank you!

    Nah, they'll be reet.

Most players go through injury problems, and most bounce back.

Some players never bounce back from injury, these two are virtually permanent residents in the treatment room and have been for the last three seasons. If either of these two plays a dozen consecutive games next season I'll show my arse in Burton's window.

Be careful sinkov ,pal. If Map reads this and sends some of that Chinese medicine, the one that did magic with the Covid -19 (microvita),until they ran out of the stuff. Burton's would never have seen crowds like they would see??

No worries Balan, I'm speaking metaphorically, by which I mean neither Brady nor JBG will be playing 12 consecutive games, and I won't be showing my arse in Burton's window either.
