PL - Final table after fixtures of 26/7/20.

Please check (and, errr, let me know, like!) for errors and omissions. Remember, as both a twenty year bond holding Leeds fan and a New England Patriots season ticket holder, I'm barely human and the stresses and strains of both literally and figuratively using my cranium to enter your incredibly well-considered scores isn't always as accurate as it might be. Oh, and it hurts too.

    Table is in format:- poster/previous total/weekly score/new total/status.

    Orgoner / 318 / 15 / 333 / Active
    Belper69Ram / 294 / 21 / 315 / Active
    Lufcjohn88 / 300 / 9 / 309 / Active
    Silentman / 282 / 18 / 300 / Active

    Yeboah01 / 267 / 21 / 288 / Active
    Hgatenasty / 267 / 15 / 282 / Active
    Dalek_Sec / 261 / 12 / 273 / Active
    MORRIM / 254 / 12 / 266 / Active
    CalverleyBoy / 240 / 24 / 264 / Active
    Tichi1 / 234 / 12 / 246 / Active
    Whitestomper45 / 231 / 15 / 246 / Active
    Deklufc / 225 / 9 / 234 / Active
    Davee59 / 233 / 0 / 233 / Dormant
    Denver11 / 199 / 21 / 220 / Active
    Lufc74 / 220 / 0 / 220 / Dormant
    Billyni / 193 / 4 / 197 / Strike 2
    Homer / 183 / 12 / 195 / Permanent
    Howie / 156 / 12 / 168 / Permanent
    Johnny_Default / 123 / 6 / 129 / Permanent
    Hopelesslyoptimistic / 110 / 0 / 110 / Dormant
    Fredlufc74 / 105 / 0 / 105 / Dormant
    Lasher / 80 / 0 / 80 / Dormant
    UbiqueLUFC33 / 31 / 0 / 31 / Dormant
    Leedshippriest / 11 / 0 / 11 / Dormant
    Costa_blanca_white / 9 / 0 / 9 / Dormant
    Katchouro / 6 / 0 / 6 / Dormant

I will run through the results of the PL Dash separately, but the matches for the 2019/2020 (our 17th!) league have concluded and, barring any mistakes on my part, the final table is shown above.

There were sixty points potentially up for grabs from the final ten Premier League games but, with few of these matches carrying much significance, picking the outcomes was tricky enough and exact scorelines were rarer than the proverbial rocking horse's scat.

CalverleyBoy (xxEExEOOxx) may have just missed out in his own Leeds-only competition, but he was definitely the top scorer this past weekend with twenty-four points.

Three ended their season with twenty-one points for a three-way tie for the second weekly spot. Well done to Belper69Ram (ExOxxOOExx), Denver11 (OxxExOOExx) and Yeboah01 (OxOxOxOEOx).

In terms of the final league table, Orgoner had already done enough to see off any serious challenge from the PL Dash to win the 2019/2020 league crown by 18 points. Derby fan, Belper69Ram, put in a late effort to climb to second, with Lufcjohn88 finishing third. Silentman and Cherrypie7 round out the top five.

For the complete record, there were two draws, so any Strike One, Two or Three posters scored six, four or two for their lack of effort and Johnny_Default ends the season on one hundred and twenty-nine points for the season.

    The results:-

    (P) Arsenal v Watford (3-2)
    (P) Burnley v Brighton & Hove Albion (1-2)
    (P) Chelsea v Wolverhampton Wanderers (2-0)
    (P) Crystal Palace v Tottenham Hotspur (1-1)
    (P) Everton v AFC Bournemouth (1-3)
    (P) Leicester City v Manchester United (0-2)
    (P) Manchester City v Norwich City (5-0)
    (P) Newcastle United v Liverpool (1-3)
    (P) Southampton v Sheffield United (3-1)
    (P) West Ham United v Aston Villa (1-1)

As a traditional (pointless!) observation, this is the final table for "fixed" entries.

    One-Nil / 228 / 12 / 240
    Two-One / 225 / 12 / 237
    Two-Nil / 207 / 15 / 222
    Three-One / 207 / 15 / 222
    Nil-Two / 201 / 15 / 216
    Three-Nil / 198 / 12 / 210
    Three-Two / 195 / 15 / 210
    One-One / 192 / 12 / 204
    One-Two / 189 / 15 / 204
    Nil-One / 189 / 12 / 201
    Five-Nil / 186 / 15 / 201
    Four-Nil / 186 / 12 / 198
    Four-One / 186 / 12 / 198
    Four-Two / 186 / 12 / 198
    Five-Two / 186 / 12 / 198
    Five-Three / 186 / 12 / 198
    Six-Nil / 186 / 12 / 198
    Four-Three / 183 / 12 / 195

As ever, many thanks to those of you who've taken the time to bother to enter and, assuming my brain isn't totally frazzled by the end of the summer, the 18th version of this competition should start again (sooner rather than) later this year!

    All the best! Stay safe!

Well done Orgoner for both running the competition again (hard work I know) and also winning it (though I would have won had you not have entered yourself) (no sour grapes though !!). Also well done to Leeds for winning the Championship - it hurts a little to say it, but you have been the best team this season, no doubt, and you do deserve to be in the Premier. We (Derby) failed miserably again, though we all enjoyed the comedy show which unfolded on Thursday evening on Sky - thanks ever so Swansea (resulting in those Red Dogs Forest failing miserably again to get promotion - so sad !!). Well done also Calverley Boy for winning the Dash. Stay save everybody and looking forward to 12th September already - hopefully everything will get back more to normal for footie soonerrather than later. All the best to everyone associated with the P L competition. Cheers.

Thanks for the competition. Never recovered from being dormant for a week and getting 3 or 4 ducks. Can't remember that happening too often over the years.

Maybe. A bit like Leeds, we have been there or thereabouts the top 6 for a few years before blowing it. A lot depends on the young lads coming through, Rooney, and any additions/sales. We aren't set up I'm afraid for the Premier, unlike yourselves. Nice to think we will get promotion but we don't want a terrible season if we go up, it was torture under the brilliant (?) Billy Davies when we were last there.

You need to get rid of Rooney if he continues to play as he did against us - he is over weight, can't or won't run, his dead ball kicks were poor - so either he sorts it all out or keep his tracksuit on.
