Thread: Eddie Howe

    Eddie Howe

Much speculation in the press that Bournemouth will part company with Eddie Howe following their relegation.

If that's the case some club will get a gold nugget as he strkes me as a very talented, articulate manager.

Must be a very difficult situation for Bournemouth and Howe. He does appear, as you say, to be a young, ‘talented and articulate’ manager...at Bournemouth.
Unfortunately when he moved to a traditionally ‘bigger’ club - Burnley - he achieved very little.
Sometimes, imo, managers just seem to be a perfect fit for certain clubs and although Bournemouth (and Howe) have struggled this season, I can’t think that there’s any other manager better suited to taking them back up next season.

He's had them punching above their weight for much of the past 12 years. Apart from his 11/12 season sojourn with Burnley they've done exceedingly well under his leadership. Stadium has a capacity of 11,329. He has done an excellent job for them and they should not repay him with the sack, IMO.

I think that was largely due to family issues RA, he didn't stay long enough at Burnley to have an effect. And lets face it, live and work on the south coast at Bournemouth or decamp to the cold dank wet hills of Burnley? Which would you choose?

It seems he is considering his future, from his comments, I would not expect Bournemouth to sack him, as you say they ahve had 5 years in the prem which would be unthinkable for a team like Bournemouth in days gone by.

They have horrendous injuries right from the first day this season I can imagine taking a year sabbatical to clear his head

Looks like he has! I guess its time for a change, yes he has had injuries, but some of his more expensive signings have proven to be flops this season and his tactics just werent working, defense has been the main problem. Still 5 years in the prem is good going, considering they were no better than league 1 or league 2 for decades.

Absolutely right. From his perspective, why wait 6 months and potentially get sacked after a bad start, there's bound to be a better opportunity out there.

Well as so many pundits were saying, wasn't he touted as the next England manager before Southgate?

It will be interesting to see where he ends up, but I'd wager it won't be another premier league team.
