Post PL Dash 2019/2020 - Results of fixtures of 26/7/20

PL Dash 2019/2020 - Results of fixtures of 26/7/20.

The following set of fixtures was the PL Dash, the final matches of the "regular" PL competition and a stand-alone competition for a trophy in its own right.

Anyone who had taken part in the PL at any point this season was eligible to enter through predicting the scorelines for:

    (P) Arsenal v Watford (3-2)
    (P) Burnley v Brighton & Hove Albion (1-2)
    (P) Chelsea v Wolverhampton Wanderers (2-0)
    (P) Crystal Palace v Tottenham Hotspur (1-1)
    (P) Everton v AFC Bournemouth (1-3)
    (P) Leicester City v Manchester United (0-2)
    (P) Manchester City v Norwich City (5-0)
    (P) Newcastle United v Liverpool (1-3)
    (P) Southampton v Sheffield United (3-1)
    (P) West Ham United v Aston Villa (1-1)

    The rules:

In the event of a tie for first place, the eventual Dash winner will be determined to be (in order) the poster with

    1) The most correct outcomes

    followed by

    2) The closest to the total number of goals scored (33)

    followed by

    3) The earliest to post (based on their last valid posting)

    So, here are the results:

Table is in format:- poster/posting order/number of exact scorelines/predicted number of goals/points scored

    CalverleyBoy / 3 / 3 / 19 / 24
    Yeboah01 / 4 / 1 / 38 / 21
    Denver11 / 6 / 2 / 33 / 21
    Belper69Ram / 14 / 2 / 39 / 21
    Alfinyalcabo / 9 / 0 / 28 / 18
    Silentman / 2 / 2 / 23 / 18
    Whitestomper45 / 15 / 0 / 35 / 15
    Hgatenasty / 1 / 0 / 30 / 15
    Orgoner / 13 / 0 / 24 / 15
    Tichi1 / 5 / 0 / 31 / 12
    MORRIM / 7 / 0 / 223 / 12
    Tichi1 / 5 / 0 / 31 / 12
    Dalek_Sec / 10 / 1 / 27 / 12
    Cherrypie7 / 12 / 1 / 23 / 12
    Deklufc / 8 / 0 / 33 / 9
    Lufcjohn88 / 11 / 1 / 31 / 9

There were sixty points potentially up for grabs from the final ten Premier League games but, with few of these matches carrying much significance, picking the outcomes was tricky enough and exact scorelines were rarer than the proverbial rocking horse's scat.

CalverleyBoy (xxEExEOOxx) may have just missed out in his own Leeds-only competition, but he was definitely the top scorer here with twenty-four points. I think he might be pleased.

Three ended their season with twenty-one points for an initial three way tie for second spot.

Well done to Belper69Ram (ExOxxOOExx), Denver11 (OxxExOOExx) and Yeboah01 (OxOxOxOEOx).

For these three, their final Dash rankings were determined by:

    1) The most correct outcomes

This put Yeboah01 top of the "second placers" with six correct outcomes and one exact scoreline.

    2) The closest to the total number of goals scored

    Belper69Ram picked 39 and Denver11 33.

The number of goals scored was 33, so Denver11 was determined to have finished third and Belper69Ram fourth.

CalverleyBoy is the official PL 2019/2020 Dash winner

Assuming I can get a shipping address out of him (I'll send a PM, mate!), he will be receiving a trophy in the post in the near(ish) future.

Many thanks to those of you who took the time to bother to enter and, assuming my brain isn't totally frazzled by the end of the summer, the eigh****nth version of the PL competition (with the corresponding Dash at the end) should start again sooner rather than later this year!

    All the best! Stay safe!
