Would Troy Deeney do a job for us ?

I know he has strong links with SD going back a few years. I’ve also seen some interviews with him since his team was relegated, and his body language tells me he’s less than enamoured with his club in general this season.I think he’s 32 , so not exactly over the hill, and has a lot of experience at this level. Would he be worth signing him ? I think it could be an excellent move and really suit both himself ,and the Clarets. What do others think ?

IMO it would be a terrible signing (We Need better), but Mike Rigg would probably say its a good capture for the team

Honestly? No! He is getting towards his twilight zone, he will be on big money, he has one year left on his contract so we would have to pay a fee. We have Wood, Barnes, Jay Rod and Vydra and young Max Thompson is knocking at the first team door.

Anyway Mike Rigg is scouring Europe to secure young talent for next to nowt!

The guy is too old in my opinion. We need to reduce the age of our squad with the people we add in this transfer window not increase it.

Troy Deeney is too old and he has not been good enough this season. I would be disappointed if Dyche would want someone of his age and calibre. Barnes and Wood are better than Deeney, so we need to be looking for an alternative someone young and with pace, if we are looking to add to that position.

We could bring his mate back, Andre Gray, a lot of fans were sorry to see him go, good PR to bring him back. Personally, I wouldn't want either.

His knockdown header in the game against us when they should have scored was class. Haven't seen one of our players do that despite us supposedly having great target men.

Would be a hell of a lot better than Crouch.

Add to that the fact that Dyche will have a stone and half off him in six weeks he could be a very wise signing , I think it really comes down to Deeney and if he has the burning desire inside him to play some more ( he won’t be short of a bob or two).

So for me it’s in Deeney s heart and head if the hungers there Dyche will make him into a proper handful
