Llorente seems to be a done deal.
Great signing - he improves the quality of the squad hugely. Can see him and Koch being first choice (but for Cooper being skipper) once they get used to the system and each other.
Seems to have been done and dusted in a couple of days.
Not something were used too.
Injecting a note of caution on Llorente here - seen a thread and lots of comments in which Real Soc fans are glad he's departing - comments along the lines of him being good in the air and scores a few goals from set pieces, but can be a liability at the back as he thinks he's a better footballer than he is. Some suggestions he might struggle against the more physical forward play he encounters in the PL.
Hopefully not, but was interesting to see that reaction.
5 Spanish caps suggests he's better than that, and MB will make him better anyway, so still a good signing hopefully.
Has the ability to play left of a back three too. We have so many left footed players - wonder if it's a MB tactic as part of his usual approach or it's just happened because of who we had when he arrived.
Asturian - you're from near that neck of the woods - what's the word on the ground?
Really hope berra plays at least one full game for Leeds in the pl, he's earned his chance and got ridiculousky unlucky with the injury
Here we go again, Slagging off players before they have even signed. You point out that we knew in May we would probably be promoted?? My arse! Like all Leeds fans - you included allegedly - No one assumed we would be promoted until Huddersfield beat West Brom on the 17th July! So the closw season was just short of two months. While I agree that new signings take time to become established and familiar with Bielsa's style and tactics, we have to buy the players that are deemed the best available options -Two current Spanish, and one current German internationals - when they are available and fees are agreed - and if that seems a tad late to you, well, hows about thinking a little longer term than just the next game eh? most on here - well pretty much everyone apart from you - think that survival is the priority this term, and as long as we achieve that - then the current new signings will have had a year with us to move us on to the next level next season - as Harrison, Costa et al have done for us over the last season. Current signings and targets may well have been agreed ages ago - but in order of prefferance - so if we haven't been able to get first choice targets, we may well have now gone for the next on the list - neither you or I know what had been planned at the end of last season.
As frequently asserted, why not just keep schtum until you see how these players progress? - I don't know, maybe just give them the benefit of the doubt for say two months eh? and spare us all your doom laden predictions [AS per Liverpool] until say November?
