It's not the place OC, it's me, I can't be arsed any more. I just want to put my feet up and enjoy retirement in peace and tranquility. Sadly life's not like that is it.

    My commiserations Sinkov.

I thought that you would have plenty of time to polish your car, but with decorating, landscape gardening and getting caught in traffic jams it looks like your diary is choc a block.

I am intensely busy too. I am researching a Xmas present for Mrs 59-60 and cannot decide between a new hoover or a steam iron.

Go the whole hog and buy her a robot who can do all the housework and you can both really enjoy retirement to the full.

Do what I have done for the Child Bride 59er. Screwfix are running serious discounts on DeWalt products. So far she has accumulated a new cordless drill, a new cordless sander and a very nifty, cordless wood cutting tool.

I'm certain she will be over the moon on Christmas Day!

Reminds me of a mate of mine, asked him one year what his missus had got him for Christmas and he said 'B & Q vouchers'. If you'll put up with that without filing for divorce, you deserve all you get imo.

There's very little I want that I haven't already got by my age OC, I'm a man of very simple pleasures and tastes anyway. The only request I've put in so far is Nigella's latest book. I like cooking, and I like Nigella, but I don't have any of her books, Mrs S is not impressed, she says Nigella's recipes never work. We'll see in January.

Oh dear B T, what are you doing ....So far she has accumulated a new cordless drill, a new cordless sander and a very nifty, cordless wood cutting tool.
Now she will find on some wall enough space to say ''Oh, we could do with a cupboard there, couldn't we? Then who will be the Joker to start with these D I Y tools? Then you will need more things to do it with, hammer, screws, screwdrivers.paint ,a work bench and now a large garden shed, to convert to a DIY shed. Baking accessories would have been great,or its coming winter knitting needles and wool(enough for two jumpers of course )
