Your turn, Swale. Never seen them live...not likely to now, but I really wish I had.

The Tubes... an interesting band that I had tickets to see, but most of their gigs were cancelled due to the excesses of Fee Waybill on stage, including if I remember well, falling off it and breaking a leg. Also the authorities did not approve of "white punks on dope" for some reason. So concert in Brum cancelled I went to see Captain Beefheart instead.

So, Swale, I reason you too may have had tickets but never got to see them, like me. Unless you went to Knebworth....

May 9 at Leicester De Montford, I was at the gig but didn't see the incident - my older mate Dave, an amateur boxer, and I had been blagging autographs 'round the back' and he'd got into a lengthy discussion about boxing with Tubes backing singer Leroy Jones (later singer in Zal, who did the worst set I ever saw at Derby Uni later that year), we then couldn't get past the jobsworths on the main door because our tickets had been 'defaced' (by autographs)

No I saw them at Newcastle City Hall November 1977 and interestingly they played in Norwich November 2017 but I found out too late to go.
