We all know this season aint gonna be the same as previous. So whats the point. The season begins Sep 12th and no fans will be allowed back IMO. The Government as all but halted experimenting with larger crowds. So with the present Governments position of shutting down whole swathes of towns and public events at the slightest event of a dozen cases then I cant see this covid evaporating any time soon. How many clubs outside the top 2 leagues are gonna survive? In fact how many people would want to return to see their teams play anyway, given 65% of the population as succumbed to coronaphobia?
Prem League Chief Exec Dick Masters (how many famous dicks do you know?) said they are looking at Clinical passports for fans in the future he also added
"We are considering all areas of a match day, from ticketing solutions, stadium seating allocation configuration and timed entries, to temperature checks and an in-seat food and drink service for fans.
"We will work with local authorities and clubs to seek solutions to local transport challenges such as introducing additional car parking and secure bicycle spaces and implementing park-and-walk schemes."
Secure bike spaces ffs. It would appear that chanting, singing and shouting could also be outlawed. Masks would probably be compulsory. Do you really want to go through all this rigmarole just to watch a game of football?
No.
Money dictates next season will go ahead.
It would be helpful if a salary cap was put on all clubs outside the Prem and the Prem clubs all agreed to put £10m into a £200m fund to be dished out amongst the other 70 clubs on a pro rate basis in regards to each club’s average attendance and turnover.
A minimum of £1m per club and if they can’t live on that in Leagues 1 and 2 then that’s their own problem.
The Prem should be helping though.
Maybe if each Prem club “adopted” a club from each of the other divisions and worked with them with players and funding it would help now and in the future.
I agree Mick. But in all walks of life ( not just football ) the ones who have too much money are the greediest, saddest, meanest w ankers on the earth - so it won't happen. The ones with nowt are more genuine and actually generally happier than those who are loaded. Take Mike Ashley with his millions - the fat c unt will most likely die of a heart attack rather than enjoy his wealth with his family. Would anyone care? Probably not!
Although it is not my preference I would prefer to watch football on telly than have no football.
Although a poor 2nd best watching on TV is still so much better than no football especially if lots of other perks of daily life are denied us.
This probably works for The Prem and Champ. but agreed something must be done by the 'elite' to keep English football in the lower leagues going.
I think that it was necessary to finish the season off but it did lack something. They won’t scrap next season or delay it any further but personally, I would like football to be suspended until we supporters can be back in the stadia. The whole situation is s**t. There is a line in a song that goes “.......I’ve had enough of this sh*t, I’m going.....”! Nice to be able to do that, but to where?
