If it is done well, then it's ok. Done badly, it just sounds embarassing.

I enjoyed hearing the coaches and players shouting instructions etc on Saturday. I'd stick with that unless we can get a really high quality crowd noise overlayed on the commentary.

It may be a bit sterile, but match officials appear to perform better without a crowd hounding them.

The players should be professional enough to raise their game without the crowd being there.

They put crowd noise on the Ross County game tonight which was off putting because normally there isn't any.

Yes, it's like canned laughter, if the audience isn't amused it's cringingly embarrassing

The problem is with reaction noises which can sound silly. What I am talking about is playing United fans singing and chanting in the background and a general background crowd sound. This is what Celtic were doing, playing their singing minus the rebels of course. Why wouldn't you want to hear United fans at a home game?

A survey of players who have played behind closed doors was done and asked about their preferences between no noise, medium sounds and loud. The majority preferred medium noise levels. Loud was too distracting and artificial, no sound made it not feel like a bounce game.

They'd have to take our crowd noises from when we play away from home then.
