Barnsley FC up or down re Wigan’s appeal

Barnsley should find out today if they are staying in the Championship after the outcome of Wigan’s appeal to have their - 12 point deduction overturned on appeal.

Not fair me thinks, as Wigan owners knew the spending rules simple as that.

Surely the same rules should be clear and adhered to by all clubs, otherwise it undermines the whole reason for having them in the first place?

Think the appeal process cost them in the region of £500k just to compound the misery....obviously if they had stayed up on the field they would have withdrew it..but just goes to show the dangle of the championship revenue and must have thought they had good grounds for appeal...but I think it’s more of a decision for future cases more than anything..

Pleased that the Tykes are staying up. 3 South Yorkshire clubs in the Championship is good for the area. Hopefully, the derbies will be played before crowds and it would be really good to have them all at 3pm on a Saturday.

Being a Tyke resident these days with a family full of their fans its happy days. Really pleased with the result which was the right one tbf. Barnsley away next season will be interesting that's for sure. Stepson works on the turnstiles at Oakwell lol. If we win the pub in the evening will be interesting cos I'm not one for keeping mi gob shut lol.

If you take away the emotions of which team you like and which you don’t, isn’t this all a complete mess?

There's a poster on here who often says 'the only winners are the lawyers'. Can't remember who that is though?
