O/T:- Beirut Explosion

This is just crazy, its like a small Nuke in the city. Hopefully not too many dead but it is not looking good.

Crazy. But the fact there is around 5 or 6 people filming the actual explosion and also the smoke before it happens suggests this is likely to be a reaction explosion rather than terror or strike. My guess is that something minorly combustible exploded triggering something much larger which could even be munitions.

Current thinking seems to be that a fire at a warehouse caused the first explosion, perhaps at a firework storage space, and the huge explosion was the munitions being stored nearby going up. It will be a miracle if only 63 are dead after that second blast.

It certainly looked like fireworks going up or something of that nature. Reminds me of what happened in Enschede in the Netherlands many years ago, flattening everything in the vicinity.

A rogue welder is now suspected as the source - whether by accident or intent. Had it been political, there would have been claims by now. So many people have the means of video-ing stuff these days that no advance warning was required.
