Sheffield and Burnley again, but we are nearly there.
A yellow for one of Olympiakos coaches.
Sheffield and Burnley again, but we are nearly there.
Coady clears and is fouled , last minute, We hold on. Germany here we come.
I thought the result would be 3-1 and it should have been, but in favour of Olympiakos. They played magnificently and were surely worthy of victory tonight. For most of the second half they played us off the park, and will go away from this match feeling gutted. If there was any doubt before there just ain't anymore..... they are a seriously good side!. This season there have been too many occasions when Wolves have been on the end of a few 'dodgy' decisions, but tonight Lady Luck paid us out in full. So we are now into the last eight, but if we are to progress further then, surely, we will have to find a great deal more creation than was on display tonight !!! Wolves M.O.T. M. was, unarguably, Patricio.... courtesy of at least two world class saves !!! He was outstanding and we can be truly thankful for that !!!

I've gotta tell you lads...my arse was making buttons on the couch watching that! The best team lost tonight and we'll have to see a big improvement to beat Sevilla.
Good one, Plates ...and so bluddy true!
Lucky, lucky, lucky!! Watched a recording of the game, Olympiakos must be wandering [no pun intended!] how they lost that game.
, they were by far the better team. I watched the Rome/Sevilla game also and there is no doubt that if we don't lift our game against whoever wins that tie [odds on Sevilla I think] we will get our harrises handed to us. Shocking.
Twelve hours on and most would agree not our best performance of the season.. But look at the positives, we are still in the Europa league, we kept a clean sheet, despite being under siege at times, and we knocked out a team who are in the Champions League next season. Olympiakos knocked Arsenal out of the competition this year.
I thought our back three were terrific and Patricio was outstanding. There were certainly signs last night, that certain players were feeling the effects of a very long and unusual season. It's our first European Quarter final for 48 years, so lets try and enjoy it. It will be tough , Sevilla have won this trophy 5 times since 2006. The game will be played in Duisburg on Tuesday 11th August, 24 hours after Manchester United face FC Copenhagen.
Apparently Nuno told the boys on the pitch last night after the game, "The holidays have been delayed a bit, lets enjoy it".
PS We can always have a whip round for a new couch for Plater!
