Midfielder Danny Devine has been unveiled as Carlisle United seventh new signing.

The former Bradford City man was today confirmed as the latest addition to Chris Beech's squad.

Devine, 22, has signed a two-year deal after being released by the Bantams.

His arrival follows this morning's confirmation of defender Jack Armer's move to Cumbria.

Bradford-born midfielder Devine came through the ranks at his home-city club from under-13 level, making his debut in 2016 aged 18 after a loan spell at non-league Harrogate Railway.

He made 53 appearances for the Bantams over four seasons, scoring one goal.

Beech said on United's website: “I’m delighted to have Danny through the door. He's another that very much ticks the boxes.

“He's a defensive central midfield player with a great engine and work rate to his game, and he has this canny knack of being one of the first on the scene to deal with those crisis situations.
