What a shambles of a team!

Today’s performance was an absolute disgrace of a so called professional football team. There is no way our manager Stephen Robinson can say there was any positives to take from this game. On this week’s performances we will be in trouble, the opposition keepers in both games could have sat in the stands for all the trouble we have caused them. I was one of the supporters who was looking forward to Hastie’s return but already totally disappointed by his performances, if he isn’t slipping and falling all over the place, he looks totally out of his depth. Turnbull already looks like he needs a rest. IMO we need to revert to 4-4-2 playing to forwards throw the middle as we have no one at present taking up positions in the opponents goalmouth or anyone looking for scraps or knock downs. Mugabi totally worries me as one of our defence his first touch is like a pass and when he does pass the ball it either goes to an opponent or puts our player in a lot of trouble, with either opposition players round about him or having to make an unnecessary tackle to win the ball back. We signed/resigned forwards but we just don’t look like scoring. We are clueless tactics wise at corners, free kicks and long throw ins it’s as if it’s just launch the ball forward and hope. Today’s rant over

Sadly, I managed to find the stream. We were rotten. Utd. ran about, harried and hassled (and fouled, in my view, though often not in the ref's view) and we didn't find the energy or nous to combat them. They were up for it; we were not up for it.

Mugabi is about sixth choice, he's as good as it gets, ditto Lamie as third choice left back who sold the goal.

Broadly I definitely agree though - we have no idea how we want to play and Turnbull, despite being good on the ball, is causing huge problems because of where/how he's playing.

Massive improvement needed Wednesday and anything less than a win means there's some serious worries.

Oh, but we moved up a place in the standings

Livestream kept having issues for me, including ending early before half-time.

Really poor in the final third, with lack of ability to either play a killer pass or take a man on and beat him. Result - toothless. Not going to slag Mugabe - he did the basic tackling and heading clear as a defender fine. His distribution is poor, though. Don’t blame Lamie for their goal but firstly Watt for a bad clearance and then whoever was supposed to be marking Reynolds. Felt before league started that we were assembling a pretty useful squad (with exception of letting Tait go) but they are going to have to get themselves sorted PDQ or we are in for a dreadful season if this is how we continue to perform.

Ah I thought from my stream it was Lamie who duffed the clearance, I transfer my criticism ...

Aye, and Livi will play with a similar approach to United's. We'll need a lot more zip than we had today.

Turnbull as a deep playmaker is unlikely to work because we don't have the players around him for it do so. If he's not yet fit enough for him to play his proper game more dynamically we should either be asking him for just 45 minutes of it or leaving him out until he's actually ready.

Box to box we're actually fine - but being fine in the middle without a threat and selling a goal every game translates to rubbish. I think there's tinkering rather than a complete reworking needed but it will not be easy.
