Dropped my guard. Broke my own rules and didn’t wear a mask to a gig at the weekend and just tested positive. Also stayed overnight in a hotel.
That’s five people I know who’ve contracted it in the last ten days, none of whom have been in contact with each other.
Be careful out there...Covid hasn’t gone away and I feel like sh1t.

Really sorry to hear that, I hope the vaccine does its job and you shake it off.

Get well soon rA. I had my 2nd booster Monday last week. Started feeling crap Friday. Fever Saturday. Coughing like an 80 a day bloke and sneezing many times an hour. Been feeling better since yesterday. 2 tests, both negative so it wasn't the dreaded lurgy. Masks? Only ever worn one when and where it was compulsory as they give me a dry mouth and throat for some reason.

Thanks MA. Now I just need a hug from GP!!
Interesting that you’re into ‘2nd boosters’ over there. I don’t think they’re being rolled out over here, other than for the most vulnerable, until Sept/Oct. Not certain but hope we’re not getting complacent again.
Having said that...so far it’s only been like a variation of flu with a horrible headache and wild temperature fluctuations. The self isolating bit is a bloody nuisance though.

I could have had it 3 months ago, months after my first booster. Took the decision early doors that, as it was advertised as starting to lose effect after 6 months I'd take the 6, which I did.

Over here boosters are available for all over 60s plus those U60s with qualifying underlying medical conditions.

Hah, a wry smile perhaps, but no hug as I don't want to catch your vile disease by too close contact!

Just goes to show, "it only takes a moment" and you're gone. Well hopefully not that serious but you know what I mean

Anyway, congratulations on finally becoming part of a majority at last - never been so for your football support, your EU stance or your politics, but finally joining a majority - of the population who have had COVID

In the nicest possible way, lets hop the end to administration comes before the end to your isolation

I was reading today that teachers are amongst the most susceptible, by profession, to long covid, so probably a good job you are not still teaching then - but I pondered as to why, and concluded it must be because they have such long holidays and so the long covid bug was giving the best chance to be off work as much as everyone else.
