Debate is good a mass debate is better, an argument is good for the sole and agreeing or deferring ones views not good, unless its a 75 year old who one knows will never change, in which case smile wistfully and walk on by!
Says the biggest mass debater on here

So the Nightingale Hospitals are basically a waste of millions of pounds because there is not enough nurses and Dr's to staff them! The London one is being quietly dismantled.

But it’s you that keeps defending such ineptitude, GP...in the alleged interests of ‘balance’.

    So...’balance’ this lot.

The Nightingale Hospitals are closing because we can’t staff them...just, as you suggest, as they are probably needed most.

No one will make a decision on schools, even though it’s six days till they’re due to open, when SAGE has suggested, in the light of information about the (not particularly) new variant that they need to shut. Of course, I’m a retired teacher, so I’m entirely biased and lacking in any knowledge.

Parliament is reconvening tomorrow to debate the pandemic (in the morning) and the Brexit deal document (in the afternoon). Brilliant!

The Government is currently approving pupils and students returning to school and University respectively, even in Tier 4 areas, next Monday but, because of Covid, Parliament’s return, at a time of the biggest health and economic crisis in living memory, has been postponed until 11th January. Unbe’kinlievable...except nothing is these days.

Regardless of anyone’s political allegiances...the above is simply indefensible. Such dishonest ineptitude transcends Party politics.

    Hmmm...answer came there none.
I’m sorry if you thought my tone was aggressive in some way. It wasn’t meant to be.
It’s just that you, along with Ram59 and Andy have emerged, imo, as the staunchest defenders of this Government on here, so I’ll try and put it another way.
Isn’t it true that the examples of governance we’ve seen from Johnson and Co. over the last ten days or so have, with the examples I’ve provided in mind, been shambolic, incompetent and ultimately damaging?

Okay...so you approve of their handling of the Nightingale Hospitals, their stance on schools, the time given to debate the latest Covid and Brexit developments and the fact that Parliament won’t be expected to function again after tomorrow until 11th January?
