Who's been the best value for the money?

Villa players while you have been watching, taking into account what we paid for them, salaries, what they aceived, length of service and sell on value.

I will kick it off with:

    1. D Yorke cost 15k sold 12M
    2. D Platt cost 200k sold 5M
    3. C Benteke cost 7M sold 33M
    4. J McGinn cost 2.5mworth 50M
    5. J Grealish cost £0 worth 80M

Kick off? You’ve sort of killed the game in one there mate . Who have you left?
In my time watching, maybe Bruce Rioch to Derby.
Andy Gray to Wolves was big money at the time.
John Gidman to Everton, same time as the Gray deal.

I reckon Paul McGrath trumps the lot.

    God, yes of course!
Andy Gray, yes was thinking of him but could not remember how much we paid Dundee for him?

Dundee Utd, bout 110 grand, had to google the amount. 1.49m up front, the rest on resale, to reduce the pressure of the player (Gray's request) being the 1st 1.5m sale in the UK (Gray paid the balance on signing for Everton).

David Platt was the most expensive British player at the time and we bought in some wonderful players with the money.

You can talk all you like about your Platts; Grays; Gidmans.....even your McGraths but there is only one player here.

Sid Cowans. Cost nothing. Would we have won the league without him? Errrrr....no.
Would we have have won the European Cup without him? Almost certainly not.

Best value, best player ever to grace a Villa shirt.

Can you believe Sid was only capped by England only 10 times just shows it’s always been a favourite boys club

If Grealish goes to Manure or Spuds, he will get 50 caps for sure, stays with us maybe half a dozen and they will be friendlies!
