Thread: Younger players

    Younger players

Realistically how many of the u23 do you think will see reasonable game time this year?

Of those in that category last year and the new signings could be

    Shackleton
    Struijk
    Geldhart
    Dramah
    Greenwood
    Hossanah
    Casey
    Poveda
    Davis
    Mcalmont

Assuming from what has been said that Gotts and Bogusz will be going out on loan and possibly Davis too but less clear.

To have so many on the verge of the first team squad is great if you think back to the signings under Warnock and Wise - sell the prospects and bring in old timers.

    Happy days

    Agreed,

just have to get through this year. I think we'll be fine. Definitely some worse teams that us on paper as well in the locker room. Thank goodness some of them have the classic retread prem managers. Helps ensure our survival.

I think some of the above will see more time than we think. There will be some blow out games against us and MB might want to give them a chance in those games.

I think Shack, Strujik, Dramah and Poveda will see a fair amount. will also depends of if MB moves Bamford back to a 10 or Phillips back to the back line. Could see Strujik or Dramah playing a lot since Cooper, Ayling and Dallas are not as young as they used to be.

Listen to something talking about the S&C at Leeds - they reckon that the players who have been there for two years will now have adjusted to the training and have a much higher baseline fitness and cope with its demands better.

Another bit of good news. We will be the fittest squad in the league!

Good topic. Difficult to answer because we don't know the quality of Greenwood, Drameh or Delhardt. I am still puzzled why Arsenal and Fulham let Greenwood and Drameh go to Leeds. Money? Rather shortsighted for reasonable prospects. Good for us i guess. Back to your question, Struijk, Shackleton and Poveda will see meaningful 1st team action.

Shackleton, Stuijk, Geldhart, Poveda, possibly McAlmont, would prefer it if Bogusz was held on to and given game time, but doubt it.

With you on Bogusz but the rumour is season long loan to bring him on.
