Shinnie - free transfer. Possibly good enough as cover for the DM role or wide MF but nowhere near my 1st choice in either role
Jozefoon - I posted my doubts when we signed him.............
Lawrence - is a riddle, wrapped in a mystery, inside an enigma. The player we saw in the last half a dozen games prior to lockdown was exactly the player we want. Unfortunately, following lockdown, he reverted to his petulant best and his "form" disappeared faster than it had come. I still think he's a luxury we can't afford.
Marriott - Marriott season 1 was what we want in a striker. Season 2 was destroyed by the groin injury he picked up pre season. I don't think the jury can be out on a fit Jack. The question is how fit is he?
Waghorn's a decent championship striker, but has hardly been played in that role, but his goal tally was more than respectable last season.

Shinnie, well he was free and can play in a number of positions, good cover

Jozefoon - looked an exciting signing, like so many who come to Derby with good reputations has failed to deliver the goods.

Lawrence - on his day he is class, trouble is those days are infrequent.

Marriott - injured last season, has this season to prove his worth.

About right that. People forget that other clubs were after Jozefzoon, bit of a mystery why he’s been quite so poor and sadly a candidate for our all time top ten worst signings.

As regards Marriott, imo he picked up an injury at Stoke towards the end of November 2018(!) and hasn’t been the same since. For three and a bit months he looked the real deal but since then, a certain performance at Elland Road apart, he’s been a huge disappointment.
If it’s injury related then fair enough, but let’s hope it’s sorted. At least we know what he can be capable of.

RA it's really hard to judge Zoon he comes on as a sub mainly He's never really done much but wide players are often like that He really needs three or four games on the trot to truly judge him But he's never going to get that chance . Don't really know why Lampard bought him because he doesn't play with wingers anyway . Best for him to move on but that's easier said than done .

Sorry, mista. Rarely disagree with you but he’s not that hard to ‘judge’. He cost us a lot, he’s had two full seasons with us, he’s made 41 appearances - many off the bench - and achieved very little. I really wish it wasn’t the case, but all that equals a bad signing.

Derbyshire live reporting we are NOT in for Kozwiak.

They also say we are NOT getting Baxter, a 20 year old Chelsea keeper the papers said we were after.

Yarksher Live say Bielik, Holmes and Lawro are not fit to play tomorrow against Sheff U and, of course, Marshall is away on Scotland duty and therefore not available.

Indeed, one would have hoped we had a list of "players wanted" ready to start working on from the top down once we knew where we stood. We may well have such a list. More to the point, I'd be right royally pi55ed off if we didn't. Don't forget, it's only a week ago that the verdict was handed down. As we all know, the way forward was then

    a) speak to club re availability
    b) speak to player
    c) haggle with the club over the fee
    d) haggle with player over wages
    e) have both contracts drawn up
    f) player has medical
    g) both contracts get signed

The order might be slightly different and some bits might occur simultaneously but no 2 transfers go exactly the same....

That's a fair bit to get through in under a week. They say patience is a virtue. We fans shouldn't be expecting (m)any buys/loans before the weekend at the earliest and my bet would be that it will take longer. The window is open until some time in October.
