    transfers

Can't believe we haven't got any business lined up to improve are chances of competing

I really thought we would have players on the radar as soon as we got an all clear from the EFL
Last season told us we are way behind the best teams in this division
    left back a problem
    centre midfield a massive problem
and out wide and up front we look well short

Different this year though, eddy. Not totally certain how it works, but I think the window is open until 5th October with an extension until the 16th for deals involving Premiership clubs.
Open a lot longer than usual anyway.

I think we'll have to rely on loans and free agents, as I think our purse strings will still need tightening.

Some better loans won't become available until late on, because their clubs are considering them for the first team squad and free agents aren't restricted to the transfer window.

A major outgoing transfer could help matters.

    Get your point
My take is a good start is crucial
Jim smith's use of the overseas market was great
Who does our scouting does anyone know ?

I want the old Derby back as soon as we made an interest we usually got our man
now we seem to miss out to our lesser rivals

    Agree with all of that.

Still time, but a combination of the EFL doing its worst and the lengthy window as far as Premiership cast offs are concerned has made things harder.

I too long for the days of signings from Croatia, Costa Rica, Estonia, Denmark, Italy, Spain...(and Port Vale ). They seem a long way off.

Hmmm...when was the last time we made a successful signing that anyone with a fairly basic knowledge of football couldn’t have identified?
