Do you think Captain Boring and his band of front bench rabble will ever get into power .... I don't. Four more years is a long long time in politics and many of Boris's present clangers will be long forgotten when the next GE arrives. What matters to all countries EP is the state of their economy and there's only the Tories who will make ours recover, which it will .... and not by overtaxing the wealthy unduly. We will see what Rishi has to say in his forthcoming fiscal plan.

I’m genuinely interested in a chap like you who’s always banging on about how much he admires ‘self-made’ men can square the circle of Starmer and Johnson? One has come from a relatively humble background to get himself to Oxford, become a barrister, then a QC, then be given one of the top legal jobs in the country. Then he turns his hand to politics, becomes an MP, then LOTO, and now he’s turned the polls almost completely around.

The other has had everything handed to him on a plate, but has been sacked twice for lying to his boss, been unfaithful to his wife, and has an unknown number of children. How does your self-proclaimed ‘go for it’ mentality cope with supporting the latter of those two people?

You old farts have been conned into believing the economy and continuous growth is important and the more senile you get the more you have to keep convincing yourselves it's true because you will look back at your subservient lives and realise what a waste it was.
Same old Socialistic ideology. Too boring to answer although I'm delighted with my own later life I would add and wouldn't have changed my earlier life one bit. Senility? not in my case thankfully but shows your character as one without respect for the older generation. Talking about the young. I also look at the young and apart from a small minority I see them getting on with life and solving their own problems without a thought of joining a protest.

Hi Fatman hows your life at the moment ? - mine's good and secure.

Admittedly your Captain Boring is doing a decent job but he's not had to make any decisions has he? He did a good job in sacking Long-Bailey and I do hope he continues to bring back proper Labour and get rid of the far left imbeciles. Boris is having a horror show at the minute and deserves to be criticised but I have a strong feeling (as posted before) all things will be forgotten when the plague becomes manageable and we're finally out of the EU and can get on as an independent country. We differ on this but only time will tell.

Tell you what. I'm pretty confident I'll collect £20 from Sid when Donald gets re elected in November so let us have a bet. One has to allow time to pass in such matters but I'll bet you £20 that in the 2nd quarter of 2021 our economy will be back on the up and Boris will have established his lead over Captain Wooden. Don't try and get me on the old 'Silver spoon in mouth' quote, it's the way of the world and always has been, you are back to the politics of envy. What say you fella? Sorry I forgot and had to edit. Because Boris has had his leg over a few times and a few birds ..... so what and who cares. His kids will not go short of the best things in life whoever their mother is. Not a topic in my opinion and nothing compared to the Rotherham grooming gangs and the lives they have ruined.

Your grudging praise for Starmer answered my question for me. Many of the Tory supporters I knock about with claim like you to be big fans of self improvement and people ‘battling against the odds’ to get somewhere in life. Like you, I suspect their support for both Johnson and Trump tends to suggest that actually they like the status quo more than anything else, and have a deep-rooted, maybe even subconscious deference to inherited wealth and privilege and those who want to keep it.

As for your offer, you’ll have to give me more details. The economy is in the toilet at the moment, so obviously it’ll be better sometime in 2021. Your mate Johnson is about to bend over and take it fully from the EU so we may well have to see how that pans out. Badly, I suspect.

Can't quite understand your first paragraph Fatso but n'mind.

2nd paragraph. Correct and it will get worse for a few months and give your lot a lot of anti Boris ammo. All the bet is about is who will be the leader in the polls between your captain and Boris (the parties) You've stated in your previous post that Cpt Wooden has all but turned the polls around which is true so lets keep it simple as I'm an old country boy. I'm betting you £20 that by June 2021 the Tories will have a substantial lead in the polls or more. Now this is a fair offer youth as Covid has cost us billions and nobody could see that coming. It's taken nearly 4 years for me to wait to hopefully collect from Sid. Don't make the mistake he did when all the shyte was against Trump when he came to office and it was easy to criticise. I bet long term and always have done on money matters. When the markets bleak ...buy and always bet on things coming good again in time and sell for your profit. You just have to have the confidence in your judgement.

We'll never agree on political matters buts that'a democracy and we can continue to argue without abuse. Oh yes, when the end of June deadline arrives, we'll agree to accept the most accepted poll ...... you can name it O.K.? Another edit! Doesn't matter what the deal or no deal is about. The bet is which party will be leading in the polls by the end of June 2021.

Haha you’re on. I’d like to say I’d feel bad about taking money off you, but I’d be lying.

Sid you are probably correct but lucky that Michael Foot and Jeremy Corbyn never made the step from leader of the opposition to PM. The poor leadership in the Tory party is made "OK" by even worse leadership with the opposition on MANY MANY occasions.

I watched the video snippet, how embarrassingly cringing bozo is, I really can't think of a worse PM.
