£1M for Bogle and £9M for Lowe as it appears Swindon have a good sell on deal for Bogle I have been informed

He left Swindon as a youth player, not entirely sure there would have been any fee and there certainly would not have been a sell on clause.

Who else do we have to fill in??

Perhaps makes the link for the Chelsea youngster seem a bit more realistic
The current situation is that we are still very close to FFP limits and other clubs, even those not close to FFP limits, don't have as bif a "warchest" as they did a year ago. That will be reflected in transfer fees. 6 months ago, £15M for the pair would have been about right. £10M today will reflect clubs' loss of income so far and expected drop this season.

The great unwashed are chuffed to death that we got "nul points" deducted and appear to think "that is that". I have a message for them. We are still at or almost at the limits of FFP. Total income from last season will have been down, for everybody. This season will be the same. Nowhere near the ticket income we would expect. Sponsors and advertisers will, in all probablilty, have renegotiated their deals with the Rams. The decrease in income will affect us, through FFP, for a few years yet. 19/20 will be a bad year/season, financially, for clubs as will 20/21 be. The EFL case was over the 3 years up to the 17/18 season The next few FFP calculations will affect:

    16/17 - 17/18 - 18/19
    17/18 - 18/19 - 19/20
    18/19 - 19/20 - 20/21
    19/20 - 20/21 - 21/22
    20/21 - 21/22 - 22/23

This might also be further affected as we have not yet posted the accounts for the 18/19 season which were dut at Companies House in March. Clubs got an extension due to Covid. That deadline has also come and gone. It is possible that we got a further extension waiting for the verdict of the EFL tribunal but not a guarantee.

This delay might lead to further charges from the EFL or from the CPS for the late presentation of te accounts.

This is going to run and run. The Derby Way

There certainly is for Will Hughes though who is being linked with a £13m move to Tottenham.

That would be unusual for Derby!

The arrangements for fees and associated clauses are different for players under the age of 16, Bogle not being 16 when he moved to Derby from Swindon, he would only have been on a "scholars" contract.

Might the delay be linked to waiting for any possible appeal by the EFL?

Doesn’t matter if we like it or not..... we are going to have to rely on selling players nowadays to stay within FFP if we are to “Buy” desirable players that we want!

It does seem good business to cash in on academy players such as Bogle and Lowe which ultimately allows us to bring others through....

Imagine if we just stuck with what we had in positions..... we’d never graduate younger players and all the hard work done behind the scenes goes to waste because players then don’t want to join us at a young age because they feel that the only way to progress would then be through loans A lot like the big PL clubs!

I say cash in, as long as it’s financially viable and correct and start again!! Let’s actually make some money as a club much like Crewe did with their academy and be able to push on from there!

Surely FFP will have to take into account the exceptional circumstances regarding revenue loss. If not you may have %50+ clubs in trouble if the restrictions continue.

Yes you are correct with all that MA we are living on the edge for the foreseeable future .I was expecting the accounts to be published after we were cleared But as somebody has said we could be waiting till any appeal .We have to really tread carefully now because the EFL will have for the slightest thing . See they have till Tuesday to get there appeal in .Let's hope there is no appeal but to try and save face with the other clubs ,wouldn't surprise me if they appeal .
